biography
After releasing their debut
EP in June 2006 to a packed Amplifier Bar crowd, and rave reviews, including
“…one of the best local CDs of 2006 (and indeed one of the better local debuts
of the decade so far)”, Perth rock trio The Reserves have experienced a steady
rise in the local scene, which saw them end 2006 with a bang, supporting the
likes of Trial Kennedy, The Getaway Plan and Birds of Tokyo.
Early 2007 sees the band demoing tracks for a second EP, with a double A side
single planned for release mid-year. At the engineer’s helm for the new material
will be acclaimed, WAMi award winning producer Dave Parkin (Snowman, Jebediah).
Delivering encapsulating live performances with emotive songs filled with hook
laden melodies, The Reserves are fast gaining a reputation as one of Perth’s
finest, and this combined with a ‘stick to your guns’ attitude has gained the
band a great deal of respect despite their tender age.
“(The Reserves) will become a prominent feature of the local scene in the coming
12 months.”
X-Press, Issue 1040, 18.01.07
“Some of the
most memorable hooks heard on any release this year…excellent.”
